About me

Hi, I’m Selina (Xintong) Zhao—an artist, athlete, and perpetual observer of the quiet details that make up the human experience.
Whether I’m sketching with charcoal, leading community projects, or writing about the world’s fragility and resilience, I’m drawn to intersections—between art and empathy, science and storytelling, nature and design.

I’m a student at Mercer Island High School (Class of 2026), a New York Times Coming of Age finalist, and a Gold Presidential Volunteer Service Award recipient. My work has been recognized by the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, ARTEFFECT Unsung Heroes, and the Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Contest.
Each piece I create—be it a painting or a project—is my way of making sense of the world and, hopefully, leaving it a little more connected.
